Possible interest in the Awakening Joy course?

Dear all,

A few of us went to IMC this Saturday to listen to James Baraz’ talk on Awakening Joy and his new book on the same topic.  If there is enough interest in the group to enroll in the Awakening Joy course, I’m willing to devote one day a month in support of the course – for discussion, sharing, etc. around the topic of each month.  You can find out more about the online course here:

Special daylong with Ajahn Metta on February 6th

Ajahn Metta

Ajahn Metta of the Saranaloka Foundation in California and Amaravati Monastery in England will be visiting Modesto on February 6th, 2010.  There will be a day of meditation, meal offering, some chanting and Dhamma instruction and talk along with time for questions and answers.  The Insight Meditation Modesto sangha is sponsoring this event.  See the flyer for more details on this event, which is offered freely for all who would like to attend.  Donations are welcome and will be given to benefit the Saranaloka Foundation which is supporting the Theravada nuns in establishing a training monastery in Northern California.
