Special daylong with Ajahn Metta on February 6th
Ajahn Metta of the Saranaloka Foundation in California and Amaravati Monastery in England will be visiting Modesto on February 6th, 2010. There will be a day of meditation, meal offering, some chanting and Dhamma instruction and talk along with time for questions and answers. The Insight Meditation Modesto sangha is sponsoring this event. See the flyer for more details on this event, which is offered freely for all who would like to attend. Donations are welcome and will be given to benefit the Saranaloka Foundation which is supporting the Theravada nuns in establishing a training monastery in Northern California.

6-week intro course to be offered again in August
The 6-week Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation course will be offered again in August. The classes will start on August 5th and continue on Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30am at the UU Fellowship church at 2172 Kiernan Rd., Modesto as part of their religious education program. If you missed the 6-week course or want a review or to catch a class you missed in the last series of the course, please come. I will be not be using any recordings for this series, but will use the same handout materials from the previous course.
